Fashion On 1
returns with bang this year, taking place from 24th April to 4th
May 2008 at 1 Utama's grand concourse at Lower Ground Floor
Oval. Since making its debut in 2005, 1 Utama 's annual fashion
week "Fashion On 1" has turned into a highly anticipated event
in the Malaysian fashion industry.
A by-invitation-only red carpet Gala Party was held on 24th
April attracted a creme de la creme guest list of fashion and
high society. The gala was hosted by TV celebrities Belinda Chee
and Hansen, with entertainment provided by soulful band Evening
Breeze.
To complement the fashion week, a visually stunning runway
inspired by the glamorous fashion jet set was specially created
for Fashion On 1.
As a simple design just would not suffice, the design team at 1
Utama recreated an airport setting - which sports a contemporary
1-storey `terminal', 40 ft high control tower, airplane strip
and navigational spotlights. Wind socks were also custom made to
make the scene as realistic as possible.
At the Fashion On 1 entrance, shoppers took a style trip by
entering `check-in' counters and special passenger boarding
tunnels for a complete sensory experience. An airport buggy
filled with baggage and suitcases also lends a creative touch.
Throughout the 11-day fashion week, shoppers were treated with
the trendiest Spring/Summer `08 collections from over 41 fashion
labels presented by 1 Utama tenants - ranging from international
labels DKNY, Greg Norman / Ashworth, Raoul, Topshop / Topman,
Nautica, Forever 21, DC Tribe, Chevy, Mastina, Pierre Balmain,
Marks & Spencer, Elle Concept Store, Promod, French Connection,
Valentino Rudy, Key Ng The Savile Row Company, fyi, Pumpkin
Patch, Island Shop, Motherclub, Padini Concept Store, FlowerGirl,
Poney, Lewre, Kevin T (Storybook Couture), Phenomenal, Guy
Laroche, Dorothy Perkins, G2000, Noor Arfa, Adidas Originals /threepointsix,
Xixili, Nine 2 Nine, DC Super Heroes, Braun Buffel, Tropicana
Life, Women'Secret, Greg Norman / Adidas Golf, G&H, John Master
/ Schwarzenbach and Alain Delon.
