Themed Shu
Uemura's 'the Art of Beauty', featuring Melinda Looi, with hair
inspired by L'Oreal Professionnel, the opening night gala
promised a mixture of avant garde and surrealist impressionism.
Attended by a full-capacity crowd of 400 which included member
of royalties, top KL socialites, dignitaries, celebrities, as
well as local and foreign media, the show did not disappoint as
Shu Uemura's exceptionally artistic make-up was complimented
with L'Oreal Professionnel's audacious over-the-top hair works
on models wearing Melinda Looi's design |

Melinda
Looi, one of Malaysia's most famous and successful designers and
a member of the "KL Six", featured never-seen-before outfits in
innocent shades of white to accentuate Shu Uemura's flamboyant
eyelashes, while her feisty range of rich, vibrant.colours
complimented the sassiness of L'Oreal Professionnel's hair dos. |

the end of the night's fashion gala, guests were then ushered to
an after-show party at the STYLO Festival's very own party
central, the STYLO Red Room on the 2nd Floor of Pavilion Kuala
Lumpur. The aftershow party continued the night's `Surrealist'
theme and featured fashions and accessories by Tangoo,
Malaysia's most avant-garde, alternative and audacious designer
duo, Chris Yong who turned the STYLO Red Room into a dreamy,
surrealist party venue with quirky attire and funky accessories. |
